L’après-midi d’un foehn

L’après-midi d’un foehn

Artistic direction, choreography and staging: Phia Ménard.

This is a visual tale for all ages where an artificial tornado gives life to a ballet of plastic nymphs, orchestrated by an actress-puppeteer. It is a dance involving a puppeteer and her puppets, a ventilation system and a few accessories: plastic bags, a coat, a pair of scissors, a roll of duct tape, a cane and an umbrella. Accompanied by the music of Claude Debussy – 'Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun', 'Nocturnes' and 'Dialogue of the Wind and the Sea' a ballet teacher creates a choreographic piece performed by plastic dancers propelled into air currents.
